Afterschool Care
The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina Afterschool program provides after school care that focuses on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, offering students a variety of activities to explore their interests and talents. Activities include sports, team building, outdoor play, arts and crafts, and more. Afterschool is offered for children starting in kindergarten and running through middle school. About the Afterschool Care Program
Children in our after school care program receive a healthy snack and at least 30 minutes of structured homework help. Our afterschool program follows Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards and promotes well-being of spirit, mind, and body.
Afterschool care is available each day that school is in session, with our after school program running from school dismissal until 6:00 pm. Depending on the site, children may remain at school under YMCA staff care or ride a Y bus to their designated location.
Thanks to our YMCA Financial Assistance program, we provide need-based scholarships to remove financial barriers and reduce after school care cost, ensuring all students can benefit from our after school programs and afterschool care. YMCA Financial Assistance
