Y Achievers

Y Achievers, a national YMCA program, serves students of color from varying academic levels in pursuit of higher education and career goals. Y Achievers helps teens improve academic performance, develop a positive sense of self, build character, explore diverse college and career options plus interact with professionals who serve as role models.

One of the key components of Y Achievers is a week-long spring break college tour. Students will enjoy colleges and universities and gain valuable knowledge for future college decisions. This tour will leave a positive life-lasting impression on their lives. College tour will be additional cost. Please see below.

Junior Lifeguarding

The YMCA Junior Lifeguard Program for ages 11–14 helps participants build confidence, leadership skills, and awareness while exploring lifeguarding as a potential career path or personal interest. Through hands-on learning and skill development, participants gain experience in emergency response, physical skills training, environmental awareness, and standard operating procedures. The program also focuses on career development and professional communication skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Junior Lifeguards develop responsibility, teamwork, and water safety knowledge while having fun and staying active. Criteria & Enrollment

Teens must be in grades nine through twelve to enroll. Enrollment for the upcoming school year begins in June and is ongoing through January. Enrolled students will also receive a free Y membership with active participation throughout the school year.
